The American Club is a private members bar, restaurant and conference facility located in the heart of the Sydney CBD on Macquarie Street.

Medland Metropolis worked in partnership with Futurespace in the role of the design, documentation and contract administration of the Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Fire engineering services.

The club boasts magnificent views across the harbour, opera house and botanical gardens with the primary project focus being the provision of a new modern bar and conference facility to compliment the clubs sophisticated values.

The services were discreetly designed to enhance the architectural intent whilst providing a high level of comfort.

The greatest challenge was to introduce enough subtle low level lighting to minimise window reflections at night. The concealed neon lighting solution to the furniture and bar, combined with small glowing table lamps and general down-lights, established a subtle and intimate ambience while maintaining the focus on the view.

The result was a refined new appearance for The American Club as well as very satisfied Club Members.
