Outstanding lighting design in Brisbane

16 December 2014

2014 kicked off with specialist lighting designs being developed in collaboration with WMK Architecture.  Specialist designs were required for the refurbishments of the ground floor café, lobby, restaurant and the lift lobbies on all levels at 127 Creek Street located in Brisbane’s CBD and the ground floor café, lobby and end of journey areas at 40 Tank Street in South Brisbane. For both refurbishment projects Medland Metropolis lighting design began by reviewing the project information provided to understand the design intent. Medland Metropolis contributed knowledge of lighting design and innovative lighting product solutions to ensure the creation of a visually appealing and functional space. Light fittings were selected and positioned using a combination of scenic and accent illumination techniques to provide efficiency and visual comfort throughout the spaces.

We were very proud to see two of our key education projects win lighting design awards this year:

The Deakin University ‘Deakin Cube’ lighting installation  has been awarded Gold in Illumination – LED by the Australian Sign & Graphics Awards.

The University of Queensland Global Change Institute has been awarded an IES Lighting Design Award of Commendation 2013. Read more
