Medland Metropolis were the preferred Consultant to work alongside Woods Bagot on this exciting project due to their proven track record of delivering fast track fit out projects that required a high level of integration, innovation and creativity throughout the design process.

With its broad roster of new stars and legendary artists, Warner Music (WM) is the world’s third-largest recorded music business. It is home to a collection of the best-known record labels in the music industry including Atlantic, East West, Parlophone, Rhino, Warner Bros., Warner Classics and leading music publishers Warner/Chappell Music.

In recent years, WM’s operations—previously across six buildings in London—had become a series of tired spaces with some lease terms close to expiry. The design approach adopted seeks to optimise the consolidation of WM’s property portfolio into three buildings in West London, bringing its key music labels under one roof in the new ‘HQ Music House’, 27 Wrights Lane.

The HQ project required a modernisation through fit out and refurbishment of the base building, identifying and validating existing services to be retained and close coordination where services were being exposed. The fit out promotes better internal air quality, energy monitoring, natural daylight in workspaces and energy efficiency—all delivering employee and business benefits

The design delivers high quality service design that offer recording artists an attractive and comfortable environment—far from a conventional office design—in which to interact with WM executives, as well as creating an exciting and enjoyable workplace for the staff.

The Services design had to consider a phased refurbishment ensuring business continuity in the occupied areas. The project was delivered on time, on budget and within tight programme constraints.
