Medland Metropolis played a key role in the creative redesign of the iconic Oxford Hotel in Oxford Street, Sydney.

The brief was to create a premier entertainment venue which had an interior feel akin to an industrial warehouse.

We collaborated with the client, Architect Paul Kelly Design and 3D Viz to create design renders which met whole heartedly with approval from the client.

To emphasise the industrial feel, Medland Metropolis featured the services throughout the space.

Utilising design strategies such as enhancing the fire sprinkler services. As well as this, by having imitation electrical services such as conduits throughout, we were able to go beyond the creative vision foreseen by the client. With 2 stages to the project; Basement & Ground Floor and Levels 1 & 2, a budget of $5M and a short program, response times to requests for information were critical.

The targets were met with the hotel re-launching at Mardi Gras. The result was a stunning and completely BVC hotel, which has drawn the attention of both tourists and the media with many feature articles in industry magazines.
