InterfaceFLOR approached Medland Metropolis and Rice Daubney to assist them in delivering a fitout for a heritage listed railway house building at Central Station, Sydney. The challenge was to ensure the fitout achieved an Australian leading Green Star Rating of 5 Stars in order to align with the company’s environmental policy of becoming carbon neutral. Updating a recently refurbished base building to meet InterfaceFLOR’s, Heritage’s and the Green Building Council of Australia’s requirements (especially waste and energy) had an effect on all of the services and it was a challenge that Medland Metropolis thrived on. The final result was a discrete integration of services within the interior design ensuring that InterfaceFLOR had an original and highly flexible product showroom in which to display their product and hold industry functions.
