HASSELL
Medland Metropolis were engaged by HASSELL to provide Services Engineering for their Brisbane Studio in Fortitude Valley.
The former Keating’s Bread Factory was extensively refurbished to create a suite of open-plan interconnected studio and gathering spaces.
There was also a new pavilion style building creating a civic entry sequence and colonnaded courtyard.
All services were exposed, which required a high degree of co-ordination to ensure that the services were showcased in a beautiful manner, as they can be when installed in a regular fashion.
The studio achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating. Some of the ESD initiatives included predominant use of metal halide and fluorescent lighting, 200 lux ambient lighting level with task lights on all desks, CO2 sensors for outside air control, sophisticated tenant metering and lighting control, automated blinds and rainwater harvesting.
