We are writing in relation to a recent incident where an unauthorised third party gained access to our IT Systems.

What do we know about the incident?

Medland Engineering has experienced an incident where an unauthorised third party gained access to Medland Engineering’s IT systems.

We have engaged external IT and cyber security experts to conduct an extensive forensic investigation into the incident. We also assembled a dedicated incident response team, which is working around the clock with our incumbent IT provider to investigate the incident.

Our forensic investigation reveals that the unauthorised third party accessed information on our systems as part of its overall activities and has posted a dataset of information online.

What are we doing in response to the incident?

We treat all malicious cyber activity very seriously, and we have notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and will comply with notification obligations to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) about the incident. We will engage with government agencies as necessary to investigate the incident and take appropriate action.

Next steps

Medland Engineering will update all stakeholders as further information becomes available.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions regarding this incident.

We are deeply concerned that this incident has occurred and take the security of our systems seriously. We would like to reassure you that we are focussed upon investigating this incident together with the cyber security specialists.
