Medland Metropolis provided the building services design for the fit out and oversight of base building plans for the conversion of an existing Navy building in North Head into a function centre for weddings and parties.

All services had to be renewed, and our systems designed to complement the existing framework of the space without breaching any heritage guidelines.

The heritage aspects, as well as the new purpose of the building, drove our creative brief for the project.

Our designs included specialised lighting, devised to provide a soft and sophisticated yet modern atmosphere.

A VRV air-conditioning system was implemented to service a large occupant load of up to 250 people in the main ballroom, while also being capable of servicing smaller spaces.

The feature ceiling was left uninterrupted by plant.

Large PAC units were sunken into the floor with the riser air and fresh air flow vents concealed in joinery.

Despite stringent time and budget limitations, Medland Metropolis provided a highly aesthetic, creative design which matched the brief and pleased the client.
