Following the successful completion of Rio Tinto Executive Suite we were engaged once again by Rio Tinto to complete a Category B fitout at 2 Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, London. This exciting project involved an open-plan office space, internal and external multi-functional meeting rooms with VC facilities, staff restaurant, tea points, communications room and wet room on-floor showers. Through ensuring we were involved in the early stages of this project we were able to negotiate riser and roof plant space with the landlord and comment on the designers early space planning. In particular, the positioning of the wet room on-floor showers was crucial to ensure the facility could be installed successfully. The design brief required Medland Metropolis to not only work within a tight time frame but to deliver an efficient design to reduce the clients ongoing energy cost, the early identification of long lead items aided the process. A combination of high level, detailed communication and intense coordination within the team ensured the client’s expectations were met.
