Westpac And KPMG Give Us 97,000 Reasons To Smile

11 July 2012

With the announcement of the anchor tenants for the Barangaroo development, Medland Metropolis can now settle into the saddle with KPMG and Westpac for the ride of the decade.

The $6 Billion development, located on the Sydney harbour foreshore, will provide 320,000sqm of new commercial and residential space.

Medland Metropolis is proud to be the engineer of choice for the fitout design for both KPMG and Westpac.

Together these two tenants will occupy 97,000sqm of 6 Star Green Star space.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome,” said Chris Medland. “We have worked hard for this, not just over the last year, but really the last decade of service to our clients. It is excellent to be growing with these companies. We did our first commercial fitout for KPMG in Brisbane in 2006 and our first retail fitout for Westpac in 1998. In business terms, these are dream projects for us – nice and steady, giving us stability over the coming four years. In engineering terms, Barrangaroo is an awesome development and we are proud to be the engineers of choice for both KPMG and Westpac in this exciting time for workplace design and technological innovation”.

According to State Manager Nick Crace, who has worked closely with both clients over the past 18 months, these wins mean that Medland Metropolis can hit its stride with enhanced teams.

“We have engaged cautious growth over the past months which I am pleased to say has been rewarded by this outcome at Barrangaroo. We will continue to bring to these projects our unique brand of client-focussed, architecturally sensitive engineering design.”
