Construction Commencing on European Headquarters: A Great Place to Work for A Great Global Brand

10 December 2013

Medland Metropolis is set to move into the construction phase for the new European headquarters of this great global beverage brand – identity is top secret.

Since April 2011, we have worked with CBRE and the client to develop the 2020 Vision Workplace Initiative culminating in the brand’s relocation to Wimpole St, London W1.

Our design has embraced the brand’s enduring commitment to building sustainable communities. The brand’s initiatives include reducing their environmental footprint, supporting active, healthy living, creating a safe, inclusive work environment for their associates, and enhancing the economic development of the communities where they operate. While all of these aspirations do not fall within Medland Metropolis’ scope, we certainly have incorporated their commitment to a reduction of their environmental footprint and creating a safe and inclusive work environment.

The site is approximately 60,000sqft in size. Medland Metropolis has monitored the base building fitout works and delivery, and will now take on the Category B fitout of the building to meet the client goal of a ‘Great Place to Work.’ The base build ceilings are being replaced with an array of different ceiling types and finishes – from bespoke rafts made from scaffolding planks to exposed soffit. This diversity has allowed the services design to shine with polished ductwork, geometric services coordination where exposed, and custom light fittings. The team is striving to achieve a Gold level SKA accreditation. SKA Gold is the highest level of sustainability in fitout and requires a detailed and considered design approach from the outset.

We hope to unveil all the details to you in 2014.
